Background Information

So likeee. 2 years ago I woke up one day, around april, may and realized I want to accomplish something because I couldnt remember anything that I started and actually finished, so I was like "DING! Ill play pokemon and catch all of them" so I started playing one game, and jumped to another game and then I started looking battles up on youtube and saw how advanced the game rele is, so I looked up a few websites and there's 3 main competitors so I said hey I can make a better website then these, so that's where it began. I started designing it on paper, drew some pictures, learned more about web development, and then recently, within the last 8 months I realized that it will take me forever to do it by myself, just to do 1 took me like all day, and im not spending almost 700 days trying to complete a website, so I made my own databases and forms and told people that I will pay them if they input data into those fields, so toni started doing it, did crazy amounts of inputs, I think its around 422 pokemon which is around 60 bucks worth, so then I got jacqueline involved in it, and then got troy weinrich involved and I just payed jacqui for last week and troy and jacqui are getting paid on Thursday. Its a lot i know, and I feel like I haven't even gotten started lol.

Stand Still

Right now the company is at a stand still, I've been lazy with coding because I can't get something to work and have to rewrite the 100 lines of code and HOPE it works. Sucks. If it doesn't work im gonna get kinda mad but that's ok.i wrote my first check for $12.20 i feel like a boss, and then i went and bought 2 binders, 1 to keep track of all my databases just incase something happens, i have them on paper which doesnt spontaneosly disapear, ever. And the other one is to keep track of all the payments for people. I send them a receipt with the count and the net pay, plus the YTD count and the YTD net pay. Good stuff, tax free. Even tho im not sure if the IRS would actually come after me or start asking questions.. hmph. Right now the budget is 100 bucks, could go up, could go down, not sure, depends on the money I get from work.

The difficult parts...

<p>The most difficult part about successfully running the website is to find people to actually work on it. One person with enough ambitions to create a website that's 10x better then the top 3 competitors on the internet is no small task, especially when ur challenged with the fact that when its all said and done, it still could be worse then the others. I have a few things going for me that should make my website better then all the others:</p>
<p>1) the website will be more organized then any other. I've realized that on all of the main competitors, smogon, serebii and bulbapedia is that all the information is on one long page. To find what you want, u have to scroll down. Moves? Scroll down halfway. Stats? Scroll down a quarter of the way. Breeding info? Scroll down 3 quarters of the way, its not organized, its centralized. And that's not good for them. Its good for me though.</p>
<p>2) the website will contain more content then smogon, better content then bulbapedia, and more organization then serebii, this combination will make the website amazing and keep people coming back.</p>
<p>Smogon has good content, but not a lot of it. im not sure why but im guessing that their ACTIVE staff isn't that big, or even knows much about pokemon. Or the fact that they aren't including that much information to the public about allowing the community to know that they can write submitions to smogon on articles. which gives me a great idea to create a way users can view the best submitions, along with user submitions and create a sort of featured along with user submitions and create a nice community based article system, also puts less stress on me to create articles.</p>
<p>Serebii has ALOT of content, they have databases up the wazoo river but they have 1 major flaw, the fact that all of their data isn't organized in an easy to find way. Its a great website but if they took time to redesign it, then it would make finding stuff so much easier. You have to remember that not all their first designs are the best, you have to keep designing it to go along with the changing times and make it easier and easier to find data. The eaiser you make it to navigate, the easier it will be to get hits, and the more hits you get, the potentially more profit you get because they are seeing more ads for them to potentially click on. Make sense?

Bulbapedia has good content, too much information and its all on 1 page, that's just how a wiki works and im sure people like it but i just dont like it, well I don't like the amount of content per page, I might create a wiki for things like items or movesets.

Hm. Ill figure something out

Smoother

Ok things are going a little smoother now. I wrote my first check ever yesterday for $12.20 for help that I got from jacqueline. Good stuff, she did 122 counts. Not bad, id rather her of done more but whatevs. The little group should hopefully turn into a well oiled locomotive corporation. Checks should be flying out the door every weekend and the website should be done within the 365 days. Right now im keeping it local so its easy to handout the checks but I will have no problem mailing checks out every friday to towns like north babylon or wherever, even nassau. The more people I have, the better and faster the website will turn out.
